Out-of-Town Cosmetic Surgery in Miami: Planning Guide
Miami is a common destination for body contouring, and patients arrive from across the country and internationally. Traveling for surgery is reasonable when planned conservatively. Below is the framework we use with out-of-town patients.
Consultation
Most travel patients begin with a virtual consultation including photographs and history. An in-person evaluation is required before surgery is confirmed.
Arrival and lodging
Plan to arrive at least one full day before surgery for in-person evaluation, pre-operative labs review, and rest.
Lodging should be within a short drive of the practice — Coconut Grove, Brickell, Coral Gables, and Downtown are practical options.
Recovery support
A responsible adult companion is required for the first 24–72 hours depending on procedure scope.
Vetted nursing and therapist resources are coordinated through our team for procedures that warrant them.
Follow-up
Most travel patients are evaluated in person before clearance to fly home. Continued follow-up is supported virtually with local provider coordination as needed.
Key takeaways
- Plan arrival before surgery, not on the day of.
- Stay close to the practice for early follow-ups.
- Out-of-town patients require careful flight clearance — do not pre-book a return.
