Procedure

Male Body Contouring

High-definition athletic etching planned around male anatomy — fitness, not surgery.

About

What this procedure is

Male body contouring focuses on revealing the natural musculature of the chest, abdominal wall, flanks, serratus, and back. Done well, it reads as athletic — never overdone, and designed to age with the patient.

Male body contouring is its own discipline. Aesthetic targets — flatter chest, defined linea alba, V-shaped flank — and tissue characteristics differ from female contouring. Fibrous tissue, particularly in the chest, often warrants a different technical mix.

True glandular gynecomastia is typically not addressed by liposuction alone and may require direct excision. That distinction is part of the consultation, not a decision deferred to the operating room.

Planning

How Dr. Gelb plans the procedure

  • Surgical mapping of the rectus, obliques, serratus, and pectoral landmarks.
  • VASER emulsification for selective fat removal in superficial and deep planes.
  • Conservative etching designed to look natural at rest, defined under contraction.

Markings are calibrated for masculine proportion: angular flank inscription, defined linea alba and semilunaris, conservative chest etching that holds at rest.

The right plan is determined in consultation, based on your anatomy, history, and goals — not from a template.

Technologies & Techniques

Tools matched to anatomy

FAQs
Will the result still look natural in a few years?+

Conservative etching ages better than aggressive definition. The plan is designed to look natural at rest and to remain proportionate as you age.

Can male contouring include the chest?+

Yes. Chest contouring — including reduction or pectoral definition — is commonly part of a male HD plan and is designed around your specific anatomy.
