Recovery
Hyperbaric Protocol
Hyperbaric oxygen used in select cases to support healing and tissue oxygenation.
Overview
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) delivers 100% oxygen at increased atmospheric pressure, raising the dissolved oxygen content in plasma.
It is used in select recovery and revision plans where tissue oxygenation, healing, or graft survival is a priority.
How it Works
- The patient breathes pressurized oxygen inside a hyperbaric chamber for a defined session length.
- The protocol — number, frequency, and timing of sessions — is matched to the surgical plan.
- It is coordinated with the rest of recovery: nutrition, garments, lymphatic care, and follow-up.
Where it Helps
- — Revision body contouring with compromised tissue from prior surgery
- — Selected fat-graft recovery scenarios
- — Cases where oxygen delivery is a meaningful variable in healing
Honest Limits
- — HBOT is an adjunct, not a substitute for sound surgical planning.
- — It is recommended only when the clinical picture supports its use.
